Because of this, when I received the task of going to Pingtan Island to test drive Xingyuan, I was quite looking forward to it, hoping that Xingyuan would give me some surprises.

Let me briefly talk about my views on statics. First of all, the appearance design of Geely Xingyuan uses a lot of curves, which looks very round and full. It is undeniable that the overall design of Xingyuan is still cute. Generally speaking, this design style will lose a lot of male consumers, but the actual car of Xingyuan gives people the feeling that there is no obvious distinction between gender aesthetics. In general, its appearance is highly acceptable. And the 7 different exterior colors can also allow most consumers to find the choice that suits them.


And the overall proportion of Xingyuan is very harmonious. Its body length, width and height are 4135×1805×1570mm, and the wheelbase is 2650mm. The length and height are almost the same as BYD Dolphin , but due to the longer width, the overall visual effect will be fuller. The slightly protruding shoulder line design has high requirements for production technology. Generally speaking, it is difficult to see such a design on A0-class cars. But it must be said that the effect presented is really good, giving Xingyuan's appearance a cross-level style.

In terms of interior design, this car is not inferior to mainstream 150,000-class models in terms of both shape and workmanship. But it should be noted that the model we tested is the top-end model with a pre-sale price of 107,800 yuan. We don’t know how much the low-end model can match its quality.

In terms of the car computer, the Xingyuan is equipped with a 14.6-inch central control high-definition large screen, and the low-end version is a 10.1-inch screen. The point is that the new car is equipped with the Flyme Auto car computer system. At this price, it is the ceiling of intelligence you can buy, and there is no other.


There are many clever ideas in terms of space, such as the glove box adopts a drawer-style design with a large capacity, and a storage compartment is added under the rear seat. And because it is a rear-wheel drive design, it also has a large front trunk. But compared with the storage space, the biggest highlight of Xingyuan is the riding experience.

It is very rare to see leather seats at this price, and the Xingyuan is also likely to be imitation leather. But the overall texture of the seats is excellent, coupled with soft and thick padding, the ride experience is very good.

Moreover, the backrest angle of the rear seats reaches 117°, and the longer seat cushions provide a superior riding experience. The absolute space in the rear seats is also quite good, and even if the driver is over 1.8 meters tall, there is still plenty of legroom in the rear seats. If you attach great importance to riding space, I highly recommend that you experience the real car of Star Wish, which will definitely give you a big surprise.

Such an excellent interior passenger space is not achieved by sacrificing trunk space. Under normal conditions, the Xingyuan still has a trunk volume of 375L, which can be expanded to 1320L after the seats are folded down. However, there is a large height difference between the seat back and the trunk. Geely said that it is developing parts to achieve a completely flat trunk after folding down.

Equipped with Ningde Times lithium iron phosphate battery cells and CTP module-free battery packs, the CLTC range is 310km and 410km. The former only takes about 22 minutes to fast charge 30%-80% SOC, and the latter takes about 24 minutes. In addition, it also supports a maximum external discharge of 3.3KW, which is more convenient when camping.

Geely Xingyuan adopts Geely's 11-in-1 electric drive, with a single rear motor. The low-power version has a motor power of 58KW, while the high-power version has a motor power of 85KW. The high-power version we tested today has an official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 9.8 seconds.

In terms of chassis, Geely Xingyuan adopts front McPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension. Compared with the rear torsion beam suspension used in other models of the same level, it can greatly improve driving comfort, which is rare in A0-class models.

Today's highlight is here! What is the actual driving experience of Xingyuan? First of all, let's talk about acceleration. The zero-to-hundred acceleration of less than 10 seconds is definitely enough for an A0-class car mainly used in the city. Especially at low speeds, the power response and smoothness of the whole vehicle are very good. Especially in sports mode, it can give us some push-back feeling when it is less than 50km/h.

The new car also has three driving modes, the difference between which is mainly in the linkage with the accelerator pedal. Kinetic energy recovery can also be adjusted in three gears, of which the drag feeling in low and medium gears is very slight, and the high gear will be more obvious, but it is also within an acceptable range and will not cause discomfort.

The steering directionality is average, but it is easy to use. The overall force feedback of the steering wheel is very light and cannot be adjusted.

The suspension is tuned very advanced, and the overall tuning is comfortable, which can filter out the small bumps on the road very well. It also maintains toughness when passing potholes and speed bumps, without any extra bounces. Generally speaking, such a suspension setting will bring poor support, but the support performance of the Xingyuan suspension is also quite good in relatively extreme working conditions such as high-speed merging and cornering, and the followability of the body is also quite sensitive. It is no exaggeration to say that at this level and price, the chassis performance of Xingyuan is very top.

The feel of the brake pedal can be adapted quickly, and the effective travel is relatively linear. At the same time, the new car is equipped with CST comfort braking function, which can effectively suppress brake nodding, which is rare at this price.

The NVH performance of the new car is also excellent, especially at low speeds, both wind noise and tire noise can be well suppressed. However, when the speed exceeds 90km, wind noise and tire noise begin to become obvious. For an A0-class car mainly used in urban road conditions, it is not a big problem.
Summary: I have driven many new energy small cars, and most of them have obvious minor flaws due to cost constraints. But the dynamic performance of Geely Xingyuan can be said to be impeccable. With excellent driving texture, large space, and intelligent performance, Xingyuan does have the potential to set a new benchmark? But for this price, price is the biggest trump card.
