Today we will take you to experience a car called "Initial G", which is the MG7 2025 model that has just been launched, and drive it to challenge the mountain track to see what kind of strength it has.

Today's track is less than 3 kilometers long, but the up and down drop reaches 70 meters, and there are 30 different bends. Here not only my driving skills are tested, but also the power, steering, suspension, body stability, etc. of the MG7 2025. So let's set off directly.

The MG7 2025 model will continue to be equipped with a 2.0T+9AT power combination, with a total power of 192kW and a peak torque of 405N·m. In this challenge, we will use the "X-Mode" super player mode throughout the whole process. At this time, the vehicle will exert the maximum power output, and the suspension is set to the hardest state, and the steering and throttle control are both in sports gear.

When we started, we could clearly feel the push back of the vehicle, and the power output was very stable. Combined with the variable valve exhaust, it was extremely enjoyable both in feeling and hearing. There are many uphill sections on this mountain road. At this time, after we stepped on the accelerator pedal, the power output of the vehicle was also very strong, without any delay.

The 9AT transmission equipped in this car is also smart enough. When we brake to turn, the transmission will downshift very quickly. And when we step on the pedal to accelerate, the transmission can adjust in time and ensure the stability of power output, and there will be no gear-breaking or delay in upshifting or downshifting.

The 2025 MG7 will be equipped with an E-LSD electronic limited-slip differential, which is very helpful for speeding on mountain roads. After all, when turning, the inner tires are prone to slipping, so the differential can quickly intervene at this time to suppress the occurrence of slipping, improve safety, and increase the vehicle's controllability.

Because the super player mode is used, the steering wheel is very heavy overall, but this is very helpful for us when driving on mountain roads. Only when the steering wheel control is precise enough can we step on the accelerator with confidence and take the ideal racing line in our hearts. In this regard, the MG7 2025 model is really excellent.

In terms of suspension and chassis, this car is also equipped with mCDC intelligent adjustable electronic suspension, which can quickly set the suspension damping according to the road conditions. When driving on mountain roads, we set the suspension to a harder state, which not only can effectively suppress the appearance of roll, but also makes the car more responsive to drive. Even when turning around, we can safely throw the car directly into the center of the bend, after all, its control is something we can trust.


In addition to challenging the ridge track, we also had the opportunity to experience the car's upgraded NGP advanced driving assistance system. This system can realize navigation on highway sections, including automatic lane changing, automatic following, automatic entry and exit ramps, intelligent control of vehicle speed, etc., which makes our driving safer and easier.

After talking about the driving experience, let's briefly talk about its appearance and interior. In terms of appearance, the MG7 2025 will continue to use the design style of the existing models. The entire front design is very low-lying, and the willow-eyebrow-style headlights are highly recognizable. Coupled with the black car logo and the center grille, they all show the sporty attributes of this car.


The side of the car will continue to use the fastback design. The length, width and height of the car are 4884x1889x1447mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2778mm. It is positioned as a B-class sports sedan. In addition to the fastback design, the rear wheel eyebrow position of this car also uses a very full shape. At the same time, the frameless doors, 19-inch wheels and red calipers are all retained.



The rear part of the car uses a through-type taillight group, which is highly recognizable when lit. The three-stage liftable electric rear wing and four exhausts with valves on both sides are all retained, which is really essential for a coupe model that focuses on sports and performance.

The interior continues to retain the design of the existing model. The 33-inch integrated screen is still very technological, and will continue to be equipped with the Zebra OS system. The overall operation smoothness is very high, and a new "Smart Island" function has been added to ensure that high-efficiency navigation information is displayed in real time when switching back and forth between multiple applications.

In addition, the new car also adds memory parking assistant and P2P memory parking functions, which are also very important for many consumers. After all, when you encounter narrow parking spaces or difficult parking spaces, you can let the system park by itself.

The UI design of the car system itself is also quite user-friendly. The functions we often use are placed on the far left of the screen, and the de-layering is also done well. We can control most of the functions of the vehicle through the car system, including driving mode, super player mode, navigation, air conditioning, etc.


The steering wheel is still familiar to us, and the multi-function buttons on it are physical buttons, which also avoids the occurrence of misoperation. The "X-Mode" button is in the lower right corner of the steering wheel, which is really my favorite design. At the same time, as a sporty fuel car, shift paddles are definitely indispensable.

The new car will also be equipped with a 49-inch AR-HUD, which can display the vehicle's driving information and navigation information. The information is very clear, and the overall brightness, height, and angle can be manually adjusted to meet the needs of different consumers.

The seats of the MG7 2025 are still an integrated design, and the overall wrapping is still very good, especially the waist and side wing positions. In addition, the support and softness of the seats are also very satisfactory to me. The seats also support electric adjustment, heating, memory, welcome mode and other functions, which can fully meet the needs of daily use.
