Speaking at an automotive forum held alongside the 2026 World Internet of Things Convention in Beijing, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said China's vehicle exports are expected to surpass 10 million units in 2026.
From January to September, China produced about 23.25 million vehicles and sold about 23.27 million, keeping the industry broadly stable. Exports reached about 8.21 million units in the same period, up 65.8% year on year, with more than 4 million new energy vehicles shipped abroad, up around 130%.
Industry observers note that electrification and intelligence are reshaping the global auto industry, and Chinese brands are moving from product exports toward a combined export of brand, technology and services. For new- and used-car exporters, overseas after-sales networks and local service capability are becoming new points of competition.
